Nobuo Uematsu.
man...
i found a CD, which i burnt back in 2002.
4 years ago.. so long ago..
and it consists of ALL the instrumental songs i loved back then.
i was listening to all the Final Fantasy Battle Themes.
Final Fantasy 7
Final Fantasy 8
Final Fantasy 9
out of this three, Final Fantasy 7's battle theme is the most intensifying!
god.... Nobuo Uetmatsu or is it Nobuo Uematsu.
you're a really crazy composer....
all of the Final Fantasy's songs,
are ALL composed by this japanese composer called
Nobuo Uetmatsu.
be it the slow and sentimental ones which can make people cry,
all the jazzy ones, of when playin in the game,
the character reaches a pub, or at a ballroom.
Nobuo Uetmatsu is really a crazy composer.
he practically knows every Genre !!
from fierce intensifying battle themes,
to sad sentimental themes like FF7's
Aerith Theme or
Tifa Theme.
to the jazz themes of FF8.
and the Waltz themes in FF8,
of when
Rinoa and
Squall were dancing in the ballroom.
im now searching for the FF7's Jenova Theme,
nort the usual theme, but the last time when u fight Jenova, that theme's nice.
been listening to FF7's Battle Theme over and over again..
gawd.. the instruments..
he's able to blend the instrument sounds so well..
the tuba playing the strong staccato bass,
the trumpets hitting the super high notes.
the parts when the trumpet melody goes higher and higher,
and the lower brasses goin lower and lower..
the parts where the piccolo solo comes in.
the percussion must be really strong,
and gotta provide very very good balance.
the percussion in the intensifying themes are the most impt..
once someone cock up, the whole song would surely be ruined.
every single beat has to be in time.. every single quaver and semi-quaver..
the timpani.. and the snare drum..
just the right balance is heard..
what a professional band,
and a professional composer... gawd. im awestrucked.
have you guys heard of this movie?

u'd haf noticed that part when Tifa fought with that new guy.
THAT PIANO THEME. YES THAT PIANO THEME!
that's the BATTLE THEME for FF7,
and NOBUO UETMATSU transformed it into a piano piece in a flash...
super powerful....
that piece, when i first heard it,
it sounds as if 2 pianos are playing at the same time.
yar.. but that day. just months back,
Mr Tan, our electone teacher.
his student, only a Grade 4 pianist.
PLAYING THAT PIECE. gawd.
it already sounds like a
diploma piece to me larh can.
his student played EXACTLY the same as the one in the movie..
horrible.. when can i even play like that..
sigh.. music.. i still haf a looong way in this path..
all my frens have been giving me encouragement.
they know my dream.
is to be a renowned musician in the near future.

that time we caught up.. and she really told me alot.
bout dreams and so..
she said smth which made me realise smth i din realise.
for me, i want to shine in my younger days,
i wanna be outstanding in the younger days..
but what she told me really set me thinking.
she said. "Musicians get famous when they're old."
which i really MUST agree..
thank you for letting me realise that..
no matter how many more years i may take,
10,20 years.
i still wanna make it up there.
that is my dream, and i hope..
i'd be able to achieve it.
my dream seems so far away still..
but .. i'll work hard.. =]
