update FUSION + POP CONCERT!
it was our THIRD Fusion Workshop yesterday.
this time YongLin's the leader.
hahaha.
our group has ALWAYS been different.
everyone performs their pop and rock songs.
however, we've always been special,
like for consequetive 2times, we've been playing Disney's Ballads.
like during my time was
A Whole New World,and during Juliany's time was
Beauty And The Beast.
guess what YongLin came up with this time?
LOL. Singapura Medley !! LOL !!
there was the
"Stand Up For Singapore" intro,
followed by a famous chinese oldie,
"Ye Lai Xiang".then nxt up was
"Bengawan Solo",
and then a
Drum Solo,
and then last piece was
"Chan Mali Chan",
followed by my
Clavinova Solo to end off the piece.
YongLin's really crazy larh. LOL.
and guess what?
we din even had any REHEARSALS at all!
only last minute one in de morning 9-11am at Clarke Quay.
but YongLin has written a simple score for the pianists.
and then and then, these few days we've been working the piece out.
thanks to me too. =xxxx HAHA.
yupppp! we only rehearsed and practised during that time.
LOL! so last minute right? blame YongLin not me!
we met at 8.30, but i 6.30 must wake le.
so we jammed till 11, went to Plaza Singapura for Lunch,
den went back to school for fusion!
uh huh. fusion was great!
was abit weirddd. but then still okay.
oh yes!
since that time the "Beauty and the Beast",
i was saying i'll upload yet i stil didnt.
give me some time yar guys? i'll do so soon!
uh huh!
i'll also upload an example of what other groups did.
there's this group that did

uhuh!after fusion, i stayed in sch for 3hours 30mins,den went to the POP concert from 6-9.
damn it, i tell you, it was GREAT LA!

concert was 6-9,
during the period of 2.30 - 6,
i slacked in sch. shooooper boring!
i slept for half an hour. shooooper tired.
hide behind a piano and sleep when i booked a room
to practise with jarrel and shaohui. LOL.
okay concert was held beside the school's canteen!
the amphitheatre!
yupp!
the first 1andhalf hour was boring.
until the stars of the pop concert appeared.
there's this girl, her name is Hui Min.man.... this year february during Lasalle's Open House,
i went and saw her performing.
she left me a very lasting impression,
as she's petite and small in size,
with a BIG voice.
heard from Gina, a new friend of mine,
Hui Min's from Classical Stream doing Vocal,
what does that mean? means singing OPERA.
yes, it irks us when we talk bout opera,
BUT, god, their voices are SUPERB.
Huimin sang a few pop songs,
and also a few sentimental ballads.
including a duet with her boyfriend Joe.
man.. JOE HAS A GREAT VOICE TOO!!!
well..
somehow.. how i wished i came into lasalle last year.
when huimin went up to perform,
u could practically see 20-30 ppl standing behind,
forming a row, and swaying with the music left to right,
cheering and screaming after the song has finished,
and creating ALL the fun.
they're all LEVEL1 students.
lasalle's grouped into 4 levels.
1st year - Foundation
2nd year- Level1
3rd year- Level2 (Diploma year)
4th year- Level3 (Degree year)
yupp.
these group of students are all super supportive and nice!
though i dont know them, but how i wished i was in their group,
man, they make every moment of the concert enjoyable,
its them who created the ambience of a pop concert with their cheers,
with their actions and stuffs.
yeahh!
those are really great people to be with!
lindsay was invited to sing too!
Lindsay's the head of the Music department.
man. pop is POP after all.
u know, everything was DONE on the spot.
even lindsay's song,
Close To You, by blabla carpenters.
was done last minute on the stage!
and that guitar fella, who's a repeat foundation student,
practically improvised and played his solo on de spot!
crazy.....
their standard of improvising is really nuts.
really free and easy with no restrictions.
same for me, however once u change the key, i may have a problem.
well...
im still considering if i shld go take Jazz.
not sure... need some help.
because practically what
Belinda, my main study teacher is teaching,
i already know, and thus she once advised me to try taking LEVEL1.
but i wasnt confident.
means while most of my peers finish their Diploma in 3 years,
i finish and get my Degree in 3years.
while most guys finish a Diploma before going NS,
i finish with a DEGREE before going NS.
yes yes, who doesnt want that?
but... im afraid i cant cope only.
pop-wise i really know quite alot,
like chords, chimology chords, and improvising.. yup!
thus... im still considering... =]
oh wells.
