EXAM RESULTS!
HO HO HO!!
shane has been working doubly hard lately!
since he started learning the song
"That's What Friends Are For" on last sunday's lesson.
every night for the past 4 days (monday to thursday),
including sunday night, he has been practising it!
shane is working very hard on sight reading!!
for today, the time now is 3.34AM.
and shane just finished sight-reading and playing the whole score of
"We Are The World" ,
which is of quite a tough standard for himself.
however, shane is really in very jumpy mood now,
BECAUSE HE DID IT!!
HE JUST SPENT 1HOUR 10MINS JUST TO SIGHTREAD
THAT BLOODY SCOREEEEE !!!
oh yes, its quite a super super long time,
but HE OVERCAME IT!
his worst fears and something he hated de most,
SIGHT READING, HE DID IT !!!
thus, shane is very very jumpy mood now.
superly duperly hyper nowwww,
very happy that he actually did it.
WOULD U ALL PLEASE GIVE SHANE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE??
to PRAISE him for overcoming his fear.
he now thinks that sight reading isnt that bad after all.
HA HA HA.
yes.... shane will work hard!
HAHAHA.
okay, im kinda cranky now.
because i really cant believe i did it.
u know how much i dread and hate sight reading.
well.. yes, 1 hour 10mins is abit long.
but who cares! i went through the whole song,
BAR BY BAR.
for the first time i really sight-read and feel ..
a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. =]
pleaseeee. give me some encouragementtt~ ^__^v
i really need it. people please continue to encourage me okay.
i need it loads. HAHA. ^^
i received my result slip..
my school's exam.
a total of 4 modules.
Music - includes all the sub-modules (aural, ensemble, theory, keyboard skills)
Performance Analysis - this one i dont really know how to explain -_-"
Technical Theatre - MCQ tests on theatre stuffs.
Academic Writing - as it states, writing essays.
okayy... so sad.
over results.
Music - 48
P.A - 41
T.T - 48
A.W - 53
actually you know. i thought i failed 3 and passed only 1.
however THANK GOD. the passing mark is 40.
so i passed all.
there's no doubt my T.T and P.A is bad,
because i didnt really study much bout that.
god u know how horrible T.T is ?
u learn bout theatre stuffs.
u know, stage have different kinda curtains.
some curtains open sideward, some is lifted up. blabla.
there're so many types. like 8 or more?
and EVERY SINGLE TYPE HAS A NAME?
like wth ? so .. i never really study much bout T.T
neither did i study for P.A. -_-"
quite hard to understand.
however i passed both modules.
thats cool. -___-"
okay next thing..
the music side module. which i'm abit disappointed.
1) MAIN STUDY. 34/100
i've blogged bout it before lar.
its a confirmed fail.
as i didnt bring my logbook,
and also flunk the exam really bad.
this is really expected.
as a self-taught pianist, i had NEVER had technical training before.
technicals are like scales, arpeggios all these.
thus.. when i stepped into the exam room,
they assessed me like im a Classical Pianist.
they dont care one. sighhhh. i flunk it really bad.
2) ENSEMBLE. 29/100
this actually includes 2 ensembles.
1 is actually Choir. the other is Gamelan. (indo-java instruments)
so upon 50 each.
since de beginning till de end of the semester,
i've only been to Gamelan twice. -___-"
i cant catch, and no interest ah. OOPS. =x
thus i only got the choir marks. -__-"
3) Concert Attendance. 50/100every tuesday, we'll have concerts in the auditorium.
sometimes is performed by our teachers, lecturers,
sometimes is by our music seniors,
or once in awhile, by people of our foundation year.
and alot of times, inviting people from outside to perform.
sometimes EVEN inviting reputable performing bands.
and professors from france and other countries.
this local jazz professor performed before.
his name is Jeremy Monteiro. he's really good!
OKAY BACK TO TOPIC.
of the so many so many concerts,
we're required to highlight 5, and write and overview of the concert.
like is the player playing in time.
what genre of music is he performing,
what kinda elements he use.. blabla.
so yes. i got 50/100. just passed for this sub-module.
4) AURAL 75/100
this submodule,i very very surprisingly got so high.i have been struggling alot with intervals.
and also melodic dictation. like they play you 2-4bars,with left and right hand parts,
and you're supposed to write out what they play.
yeah.. i've been struggling.never did i think i'd get so high.
the rhythm part, i'm very sure i got full marks.
thank god i was a percussionist. ^_^
5) MUSIC THEORY 51/100
this one is abit disappointing.
i thought i've always been doing quite average.
like 60plus 60plus each time..
weird.. abit disappointing that i only got 51/100 . T_T
6) MUSIC & COMPUTERS ?? 64/100
dont ask me, im not even sure what module is this.
i thought this module is only for Music Technology students.
dont know why does it appear in my result slip. -_-"
7) KEYBOARD SKILLS 57/100
this one also abit disappointing.
Philip Tan our lecturer said my other components was very strong,
other than sight reading which was really really bad.
never thought sight reading could cause me to get less than 60 marks.
yup.. thats all.. so the OVERALL is a 48/100.
sad. luckily the passing mark is 40,
so i passed.. gee.
I WILL WORK HARD!
FOR HIS DREAM, HIS PASSION.
SHANE WILL WORK DOUBLY HARD NXT SEMESTER !!
