update on MYSELF !!

SHANE IS SO HAPPY!!!!

SHANE IS SO GLADDD!!
im so sorry, i havent had the time to update with pictures,
but why not spend this time to update you guys,
with whats happening in my life lately.

okay.. school started last week,
and this semester im gonna be SO super duper busy!!
very very stressed too.

one of whats stressing me out is my Main Study Exam.
main study exam last semester is technical based,
means playing scales, arpeggios, and of course sight reading.
however, main study exam this semester is RECITAL based.
recital means like a performance.

yup, so, as im in the Pop stream,
Pop's exam is very subjective,
unlike classical students who HAVE to performed solo,
we can choose to either perform solo,
play and sing, or even perform as a group!
but the requirements,
is that we've to choose songs frm different decades,
example, 70s, 80s, 90s.

thats where i suck at it.
im so chinese pop, Jpop,
that firstly, i dont know much bout english pop,
nor do i know bout the previous decades of english pop.
apart from that,
2 has to be Upbeat, and 1 has to be a Ballad.

i actually decided 2 songs,

Zhang Xin Zhe - Ai Ru Chao Shui
Forbidden City Theme - My Only Chance

however,
both are considered ballads,
thus i took My Only Chance away,
and decided upon Ai Ru Chao Shui.

have 2 more upbeat songs to go.
so.. yar im stucked. save me please.
my main study teacher recommended me this song.

okay.. headache....!!

another one adding on to my stress load is the Music Project.
Darren Moore, the pop stream in charge,
group students of the various levels (foundation, level1, level2, level3)
together and gave us 2 pieces to perform.
perhaps u're blur about the various levels,
so let me elaborate more.

Year 1 - (FOUNDATION)
Year 2 - (LEVEL 1)
Year 3 - (LEVEL 2) DIPLOMA YEAR.
Year 4 - (LEVEL 3) DEGREE YEAR.

yup, so im working with a whole load of other pop students,
all my seniors, a lil stressed though.
but there's this particular senior which i've heard of her name many times.

she's Jessica.
we both have the same Main Study teacher.
she's in LEVEL 3, also a Pop Pianist like me.

last year's Pop Concert in lasalle,
she performed a few of her originals,
which was a fairly simple composition,
but very captivating with its melody and harmonies.

so.. yar larh,
im only year 1, she's year 4,
same stream, same instrument,
when i knew i was working with her,
i felt kinda stressed somehow you see.
as there're 3 keyboardists including me,
and she's the oldest one and ONLY one doing her degree year,
if im not wrong.. yup.

but today,
we had our first session of unofficial jamming.
only gathered, discussed, and figured out chords.
this 2 songs chosen by Darren Moore,
were RadioHead tracks, no joke.
when you listen to the songs you'll go like....

"WTH!! what kinda song is this."

those 2 songs werent melodious at all,
all gloomy gloomy with alot of effects.
its really something very new to me,
when i listened, i was like... how am i gonna figure this. -_-"

well okay,
so, side by side i sat with Jessica,
and we started figuring the chords.

hey, this is where im HAPPY about. =p
well prissy and xm will know that i often listen to songs,
and get chords very fast, even when i face trouble,
i may take some time, but in de end i still come up fairly fast for de chords.

but hey, these 2 songs which Darren Moore picked are no joke,
you can go try.. damn, its like.. catch no ball at all.
but guess whattttttttttttttttttt!!!!

damn! i love my ears.
i figured rather accurate,
even more accurate than Jessica.
okay.. not trying to be proud here or show off,
but... yar lar, im just very very happy for my ears you know? ^^

there were times, she said she heard some other notes,
but after replaying the track and playing together to show her,
she was convinced after all.
MAN. people pleasee praiseeee meeee, make me happy can? ^___^

i think she shld be rather surprised for my aural skills,
cos even i myself, never thought i can figure such gloomy song,
which so much effects and noisy background.

okay lar,
but i'd wanna bring back my point that im not trying to show off or something,
because all musicians have their good points and bad points,
like some can be good technical wise,
some can be good at song writing,
some good at aural skills,
some good at playing. blabla...

BUT YESSS!
im just sharing joy with you guys yes?
de least im not so stressed now,
because i know my aural skills are on a par with a LEVEL 3 student,
or even more accurate to a certain extend.
but of course, u all shld know where my weak points are yar? sigh.

HAHA, but still.... gimme a word of encouragement please..
as... im overjoyed!! =D

so... yar, these few days,
i'll be very very busy,
transcribing scores for my Music Project for my seniors,
writing and arranging scores for my Main Study Exam,
(we need to hand up the score to the examiner before performing)

still need to write and arrange strings orchestra parts for Isaac,
as im asking him to play as my keyboardist.

well.. u probably can see how busy i am,
because apart from NORMAL school timetable,
still have to find time to meet up and jam with my Recital people,
who's gonna perform with me for my Main Study Exam.
and still have to find time to meet up and jam with my seniors,
for the Music Project.
and i still have to arrange time for my own practise. =((
i've already arranged a timetable.

Lindsay, our HOD says we've to spend at least
4-8hours of practise everyday.
i think we've to do it too, because after all,
we ARE full time musicians. geeeeee....
so much so much so much time,
and so busy so busy so busy scheduleeeeee.
cannot meet wenwen liao. =((

WHATS MORE?!
in July 07, my electone mates and i,
are gonna have a HUGE MAJOR Yamaha concert.
which will involve the music side, music performances,
and also the dance side, probably the ballet people performing.

man, i tell you, i sort of like and also dont like the arrangement.
Mr Tan really have high expectations of me.
he actually put me the LAST ITEM of the concert,
and im gonna SING SOLO !!
arghhhh.. this is the first time,
and guess what, while singing,
im gonna have dancers on the stage dancing while im singing too.

really larh.. i really dont think im up to it.
my vocal is not up to standard la.. sigh.
to arrange such a performance for me,
is like... too much for me you know.
im gonna sing in front of hundreds,
and maybe a few thousand people?
depends on how many sits the auditorium will have.
wwwahhh.. kills me laaaa. omg......

Pris, dont worry,
i'll definitely help you with the Lao Shu Ai Da Mi song if i can. =]

you can see how many activities is going on in my life,
my main study recital exam,
my music project,
my electone-cum-singing performance.
my self practise time.

so so so busy..
people please give me some encouragement yes? ^^

consists of 2 pearlwhites, 1 winterwhite,
and 1 WEIRD baby!
its colour is neither winterwhite nor pearl white. -_-"

its fur coat finally looks more complete now.
however its eyes still look sick and unhealthy.

oh yes, this was also the day, i bought a Yellow-Blue hamster.
its a breed of winterwhite.
either called Yellow-Blue, or Cinnamon. =]

was pretty taken aback when i saw it,
was wondering how come yellow blue babies are so dark!

having both features of pearl white and a winterwhite normal!
even have a little bit of cream pudding colour. ^_^

these 3 babies from Pearlie's batch show a good comparison in colours,
between (L-R) a Pudding, Pearl Pudding and a Pearl White respectively.

as we heard that pet safari there has started business.
well. yup, a big place, but quite okay after all.

we went yewtee after that, and guess what we saw?
i've seen this vehicle once, i still remember it was SYF rehearsal back then,
on the lorry to national stadium, i saw this vehicle. lol
thought its pretty cool. shaped like a mini space battleship.
its a licensed vehicle! has got number plate on it,
selling ice cream. LOL.

DEC 12th !!

oh yes, darling came my place and helped me set up all my cages too.
wanted to take a picture to sell them away,
well.. these are ALL my spare cages. including those using now.

pretty cool eh! so many cages. haha. ^^

she looked as if she's totally drained of milk.

SCHOOL'S STARTING IN LIKE 13hours TIME!!
im gonna work hard when school reopens..
hopefully will get better results this semester. =]
